Dental fillings
Being able to smile uninhibitedly is everybody’s wish and maintaining good oral hygiene and health of teeth is detrimental to getting that perfect smile. Sensitive teeth that tether the faith of people are not an uncommon sight. Every day innumerable cases of teeth sensitivity, chipped teeth, jaw biting irregularities, decay and more find their way into dental offices and the number is only increasing with each passing day. Experts in root canals, teeth filling, re-building of chipped tooth facets, cosmetic dental procedures are highly sought after and for good reason. Ignoring dental problems can even lead to speech impairments and hearing loss according to some studies.
Why do teeth get damaged?
•Tooth grinding
•Nail biting
•Previously missing teeth (hence putting more stress on remaining teeth)
•Orthodontic problems (crooked, overlapping, crowded teeth etc)
•Imbalanced bite
•Poor oral hygiene
•Genetic\hereditary issues
Dentists use various fillings that rectify chipped teeth, cracked teeth, worn or decayed teeth, cracked facets causing sensitivity and so on. There are three types of fillings that are usually used to fill teeth with problems; they are silver (mercury fillings), white fillings and porcelain restorations. Silver (mercury fillings) are the most affordable. We do not provide silver/mercury fillings.
White fillings, on the other hand, cost a bit more but give a natural finish to the chipped teeth, however their results are not as long natural as porcelain inlays. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the use of mercury for filling teeth. Some studies have concluded that there is only negligible amount of mercury in the amalgam therefore it is harmless. That is not convincing to some though. The argument is that there is no negligible amount of poison.
